Southern Stars is an application-based national all-star team for elite girls who are ready for more.

We exist to give top players the opportunity to:

  • Compete at the highest national level

  • Train in an elite, focused environment

  • Gain exposure at premier events

  • Experience something bigger than their local team

Most importantly — Southern Stars is “in addition to” your local club team, It does not replace it. We are a National program that fields teams and offers events outside of what’s considered regular club season for the grad years offered.

NATIONAL RESULTS

This past year:

  • 2030 — #3 National Team in the Country

  • 2031 — #1 National Team in the Country

  • 2032 — #1 National Team in the Country

We field competitive teams in grad years 2029–2033 and may field two teams in an age group if the level of play supports both a high standard and a positive experience.

SUMMER 2026 APPLICATION DETAILS

Southern Stars is application-based. Open to Girls 2029 - 2033

Our selection process includes: Former club directors, Current and former high school coaches, College coaches and Trusted regional evaluators. This ensures: Merit-based decisions, competitive balance, strong team chemistry and a high-level, positive experience

Timeline

  • Applications Open: Monday, February 16, 2026

  • Applications Close: March 1, 2026

  • Evaluation Period: ~4 weeks

  • Teams Announced: No later than April 1, 2026

Application Fee

  • $40 to apply (2029 class — no fee)

  • Fee credited toward player dues if accepted

Why a fee? To ensure serious applicants and respect the time of our evaluation committee.

THE SUMMER 2026 EXPERIENCE

OVERVIEW

Training Camp

July 14–16, 2026: Episcopal School – Alexandria, VA

3 Days / 2 Nights (Mandatory)

Includes:

  • On-campus meals

  • Room & board (overnight campers)

  • High-level training & practices

  • Team development activities

  • 1:10 coach-to-player ratio

  • On-site directors

  • All staff background checked

College Clinic (Included)

July 15, 2026: Episcopal School – Alexandria, VA
Led by current college coaches. Open to the public separately; included at no cost for Southern Stars athletes.

Tournament

Mid Atlantic Summer Championships: Maryland on July 18–19, 2026

Friday (July 17) is a rest/travel day before competition.

CAMP OPTIONS & PLAYER DUES

Overnight Experience + Tournament — $875

Deposit: $475 followed by two monthly installments of $200 (April and May)

(Includes $40 application credit, entire training camp experience, overnight lodging for training camp, all meals, college clinic, and tournament participation)

Includes:

  • 3 days / 2 nights lodging

  • All dining hall meals

  • Practices & training

  • Team activities

  • College clinic

  • Tournament participation

Players share rooms with a teammate.

Day Camper + Tournament — $785

Deposit: $475 followed by two monthly installments of $155 (April and May)

(Includes $40 application credit, entire training camp experience, all meals, college clinic, and tournament participation)

Includes:

  • All dining hall meals

  • Practices & training

  • Team activities

  • College clinic

  • Tournament participation

Day campers stay offsite with family or separate lodging.

Not Included

  • Uniform kit (approx. $99)

    • Custom reversible, shooter & shorts

    • Same as Winter 2025 (no need to repurchase if already owned)

  • Travel & lodging for July 17–19

  • We are working on a potential shuttle from DCA to Episcopal for athletes & staff.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • No. Southern Stars is supplemental and designed to fit around your primary club team.

  • Yes. The 3-day camp is mandatory to ensure team chemistry and preparation.

  • 1 coach for every 10 players, plus on-site directors.

  • Yes — all staff and coaches are fully background checked.

  • Teams will eat all meals together at the Episcopal School Dining Hall. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are covered during training camp.

  • No — players share a room with one teammate.

  • No. Families are responsible for travel and lodging July 17–19. We will provide team room block options but families are responsible for covering their travel and hotel stays during the tournament.

  • If you purchased the Winter 2025 kit, you do not need to buy another.

  • Application fees are non-refundable, but the independent evaluation process puts you on the waitlist in the Southern Stars data base. You could be called up in the case a player drops for any reason as well as be strongly considered for Fall/Winter offerings.
